Construction starts on exciting new All Blacks Experience
Construction began today in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) on the All Blacks Experience, an exciting new venture between New Zealand Rugby and Ngāi Tahu Tourism, hosted by SkyCity Entertainment Group at the Auckland precinct on Federal Street.
Set to open in August 2020, the All Blacks Experience is a fully guided state-of-the-art interactive showcase of the All Blacks and other national rugby Teams in Black.
Callum Mallett, Exec GM – Hospitality, says that SkyCity is proud to be the home of the only All Blacks attraction in the world, celebrating New Zealand’s rugby heritage, achievements and culture.
“We look forward to working closely with Ngāi Tahu Tourism, New Zealand Rugby and wider team over the coming months to deliver this one-of-a-kind All Blacks Experience,” says Mr Mallett.
All Blacks Experience Partnership Chair Dame Julie Christie said following the site blessing on 1 November by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, they were thrilled to be marking another significant step in the journey to opening the doors ahead of the mid-2020 launch.
“The All Blacks Experience will take fans on a fully-immersive journey like no other, guiding them through rugby’s rich history and culture, which makes up such an important part of New Zealand’s story.
“Visitors will come face-to-face with a 4-metre-high haka in front of a packed stadium, hear firsthand from legends of the game, and will get the chance to try their kicking, catching and line out skills against the All Blacks in the hands-on interactive zone.”
The attraction will be located at 88 Federal Street within the SkyCity entertainment precinct and will include a retail outlet and a food and beverage offering.
Fans can now secure their tickets on the All Blacks Experience website and be among the first to visit the All Blacks Experience in 2020.
