SkyCity launches DELISH with head chefs’ favourite shared dishes

CHEFS

As the winter air cools the city, SkyCity is turning up the heat with DELISH, a winter dining series running from 26 May to 31 July.

At the heart of this season’s programme are the dishes that bring people together, the plates passed around the table, and the flavours people return to again and again.

Inspired by the flavours that have shaped their own tables, SkyCity’s chefs are reimagining familiar favourites for winter. Guests can expect comforting food, seasonal ingredients, and dining experiences designed to share.

The series includes signature dishes inspired by each chef’s food memories, including:

  • Grilled kahawai with braised leeks, miso and coconut from Depot chef Jack Stott

  • Potato croquettes and a take on the classic deli sandwich from Fed Deli chef Megan Cruickshank

  • Unagi no kamameshi from MASU chef Jun Bae, inspired by memories from his military days

  • Reimagined Kiwi classics including steak and cheese pie, fish and chips, and the Bunnings snag from The Grill chef Lesley Chandra

  • Coconut rice pudding layered with pavlova, calamansi sorbet, and nostalgic Pacific flavours from Metita chef Tommy Hope

Alongside the seasonal menus, DELISH will feature chef collaborations, special events, and one-off dining experiences.

Highlights from the programme include:

  • MASU Robata Counter (Thursdays in June): Hosted by Nic Watt, guests will gather around the robata counter for a five-course dining experience focused on open-fire cooking and Japanese flavours, prepared right in front of them. Two seatings nightly at 5.30pm and 8.00pm. $138pp.

  • Te Moana-nui-ā-Kiwa at Metita (9 July): An evening of kōrero, waiata, and the rising of Matariki, honouring the Māori New Year through the Pacific tradition of gathering and sharing food together. Michael Meredith, Kārina Boyce, and Kasey Bird host a feast inspired by Te Moana-nui-ā-Kiwa, the great connector of Polynesia.

  • Depot x Ragtag (mid to late July): Dan from Ragtag will take over the Depot kitchen, combining a bespoke Ragtag menu with iconic Depot favourites. No bookings, just turn up and enjoy the kai.
