We’re bringing Auckland together for New Year’s Eve, and your memorable moments could be part of the celebration.

From Nana Bec turning 100 to baby Lani’s very first smile, we want to showcase the highlights that lit up your year.

Share your favourite 2025 photo on SkyCity’s Facebook or Instagram post, and it could be selected to be projected onto the Sky Tower in the lead-up to the midnight fireworks.

The projection and fireworks show will be livestreamed around the world, making it possible for your photo to help spark the first major New Year’s celebration of 2026.

SkyCity Chief Operating Officer Callum Mallett says the opportunity to feature personal stories on the Sky Tower adds extra meaning to the annual celebration.

“This year we are inviting people to see their own stories reflected back at them on one of the most recognisable landmarks in the country,” he says.

“The Sky Tower fireworks have always been about bringing people together. By sharing meaningful moments alongside this incredible display, we are celebrating the year that was and the people who made it special as we look forward to 2026.”

The five-minute display, the highest in the Southern Hemisphere, will feature more than 500 kilograms of fireworks, with 3,500 individual fireworks launched in a 360-degree pattern, reaching up to 80 metres above the tower.

For those outside Auckland, the fireworks and projection show will be livestreamed on the SkyCity website, allowing people across the country and overseas to join the celebrations.

Planning to visit the casino as part of your New Year’s Eve celebrations? You will need a SHOW by SkyCity card to play or to receive priority entry. It is free, quick, and easy to sign up online or in person. Valid ID is required.
