SKYCITY Darwin sports bar wins national award

This week, the Sportsbar at SKYCITY Darwin was named the Best TAB Licensed Venue in Australia at the National Australian Hotels Association Awards for Excellence.

The award was announced at the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) National gala event on the Gold Coast, attended by around 500 industry VIPs and guests.

The National Award follows SKYCITY Darwin winning NT Best TAB (UBET) Venue for Northern Territory and subsequent entry in the national awards.

SKYCITY Darwin General Manager David Christian said he was proud to see the team’s hard work recognised in receiving the accolade.

“We are incredibly dedicated to creating an environment where our customers can come to enjoy their favorite pass time – live sport. Alongside that we offer a great range of food and beverages, and service that our customers love. I am really proud of the team,” says Mr Christian.

Oliver Howe, Bars Manager at SKYCITY Darwin added, “Since opening in early 2017, the Sportsbar has fast become the destination of choice for locals and visitors to watch live sports. It is a competitive market out there with more and more people choosing to bet on sports and racing via apps on their phones. The growth we have had in our UBET over the last year shows that we are heading in the right direction and you only have to come into the bar on a Saturday afternoon to tell how much our customers enjoy the facilities and our staff. Without the hard working team, we would not have been able to achieve this award.”

The Sportsbar at SKYCITY Darwin is open daily from 10am through to 4am and is dedicated to screening live sports and racing.
