SkyCity celebrates International Women's Day

International Women’s Day 2020 will be recognised this Sunday 8 March, celebrating a powerful theme, #EachforEqual.

SkyCity will acknowledge the day on Tuesday 10 March in the form of mentoring circles for Auckland staff which will be held at the SkyCity Convention Centre.

In the form of ‘Lean In Circles’, SkyCity leaders from across the organisation will share their personal career journeys, aspirations, challenges, and support they received for their mentors. The session will invite the speakers and the audience to learn and share in a smart, fun and interactive way.

In April 2019, SkyCity was awarded the Gender Tick in recognition of its commitment to providing a fair workplace for all employees.

Gender Tick is a New Zealand-based accreditation for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to gender equality in the workplace. The programme assesses organisations across five key indicators, including gender inclusive culture, flexibility and leave, women in leadership, gender pay equality and ensuring a safe workplace.

SkyCity was one of the first companies in New Zealand to receive this accreditation, which is an important step in its diversity and inclusion journey.
