Rob Campbell Announces Retirement

The Chairman of SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited, Rob Campbell CNZM CFInstD has announced that he will retire from the Board by early 2022, allowing for a smooth transition.

Mr Campbell was appointed as a director of SkyCity in June 2017 and as the Chair of the Board in January 2018.

He retires after 4 years of dedicated service and leadership of SkyCity to focus on other work commitments, including as Chancellor of the Auckland University of Technology and more recently being appointed as Chair of the Health NZ Interim Board.

“Rob has been an outstanding Chairman of SkyCity and has guided the Group through some very challenging times, including the New Zealand International Convention Centre fire and the COVID-19 pandemic,” says SkyCity Chief Executive Officer Michael Ahearne.

“Rob has also been an instigator and champion of SkyCity’s sustainability, social responsibility, and compliance improvement initiatives.

“He leaves SkyCity in a strong position with a refreshed Board, a financially resilient balance sheet and an experienced management team.”

SkyCity delivered a credible operating performance in FY21 despite the challenging environment, completing the A$330 million expansion of SkyCity’s Adelaide property and progressing the reinstatement programme of the NZICC.

SkyCity’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for 29th October 2021.
